One of the most rewarding elements of photography is the portrait. This is an opportunity for me to create an image that tells a story of who a person is.
The primary elements of a portrait are the subject, the photographer, and the camera.
When I prepare to photograph someone, I like to get to know them as an individual. That’s because every person is unique; all have different nuisances, expressions, and special ways of expressing themselves.
I remind myself, I am there to find their best qualities and capture those qualities.
I’ve found, it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them. It always makes me feel connected and refreshed and when I get those great shots.
